A small note
Hello! Thank you wandering over to this space on my website!
Here is a little part of my story - where I started, what I've done and what I hope to do! There is so much of my story that won't make this page either. All of the struggles, the doubt, the uncertainty that comes with being a musical theatre performer that we never like to show. I'm here to say that I am learning to accept them one day at a time and boy it's hard. I am constantly wanting to have it all and never feeling like i've "made" it like many actors in the industry. I hope dear reader you bare this in mind when you read what I've done before and do the one thing I struggle most to do - Giving myself grace.

My Story
Before my BA(Hons) Degree in Musical Theatre Performance from Trinity Laban, before perfoming thrice in concerts at the London Palladium and before being represented by an agent in London - I was jamming to Barney in my living room. Watching Annie on repeat after school and loving to sing. Starting in choir, I knew I wanted to be involved in music because music was a huge part of my life growing up. 11 year old Aleyna is unrecognisable to current Aleyna. Shy, unconfident, nervous to make eye contact - the thought of singing and acting drained the life from face. But, it was then I had my calling. Musical Theatre. One day, I would perform on the biggest stages in the world. And no one could convince me otherwise. I count myself extremely blessed to have the full support of my parents and sister who held my hand through countless college rejections and navigating uncharted waters. It was at 19 that my second vision was shown to me. Starting a Musical Theatre school in India. To nurture the incredible talent we have at home. For the ones who were not so lucky and defeated when they were told that "music is just a hobby not a career". To do it for them. The dreamers who were not allowed to dream. And so, I flew halfway across the world during a Global Pandemic to London to start my journey. BA(Hons) in Musical Theatre Performance. Being scouted whilst still at drama school to make my professional debut at The London Palladium. A featured soloist in the biggest Christmas Show in Europe. Getting to play Jasmine in a Pantominine in London. What I have realised is as much as I love performing, giving back to the Bangalore Music Community that supported me is the most rewarding of all. Having students who now are studying undergraduates and masters in Musical Theatre abroad, reaching out to me and asking for advice is fulfilling beyond words. I always knew I wanted to be someone I needed when I was starting out and I am so happy that I get to say there is a community of musical theatre pre professionals in India who want to take a step further. And, I watch on proudly from the wings.
